THE HORSEBACK UK AND MEN'S SHED COLLABORATION PROJECT

11th and 13th of July

Personal Development Through Horsemanship

HorseBack UK inspires positive change, encourages confidence and self-esteem, and promotes recovery in an individual. Using horsemanship and outdoor activities, we deliver nationally accredited personal development and wellbeing programmes which offer our participants new coping strategies, life skills and the tools to build resilience.

The Charity Horseback UK conducts a course that covers two weeks of lectures and practical hands on experiences to a groups of teenagers. This can involve anything from taking care of horses, to going to the Alford Transport Museum where they carry out tasks such as cleaning exhibits, preparing for events and other similar tasks. Other parts of the courses are outdoor events such as biking around some of the woodland trails around the local area. After the course is completed they get a certificate of achievement.

The Mens's Shed had the priviledge of teaching the teenagers practical woodworking skills and the use of power tools safely on the Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th of July. The project chosen was to build a garden rustic chair.
